Tomorrow February 4th 2009 the most decorated Victorian chess player International Grandmaster Darryl Johansen turns 50.

It's interesting that he is in a group of strong players to come through the ranks after Jamieson.Jordan,West,Rogers,Hjorth and Solomon are some of the others.

Yes, it was and still is the golden generation of Australian Chess! And they are all (or almost all) Victorians! There are rare pics and information in the book Australian Chess In the '80s! I think this is the correct title! I suggest to all, young and old who do not have it, to purchase this book, it's a real beauty!
